Climate change pose’s some fundamental questions for the management of natural resources. In Ireland these questions are particularly important in the context of impacts on the water sector, with water being centrally important to many core economic activities and the sustainability of freshwater ecosystems. This talk will present the findings of work completed by the Irish Climate Analysis and Research Units (ICARUS) at NUI Maynooth in modelling the impacts of climate change for a number of Irish catchments. The talk will focus on aspects involved in deriving future simulations and the inclusion of uncertainty in modelling results. The results of changes in river flows and flood events will be presented as well as ongoing work in this area on adaptation and ongoing modelling activities
