Irish Met Society Photography Winners 2010
The winners of the Irish Met Society's recent photography competition have just been announced. There were 446 entries this year and the Society is extremely grateful to photographer Brendan Noonan for dedicating so much time to the judging process.
The winning photograph, entitled "The McGillycuddys", was taken by Robert Riddell from Co. Galway - the blend of snow capped mountain tops, cloud formations and colour contrast ensured that this photograph achieved first place. Low mist in Sean Tomkins' image "Early Morning" was a close runner up while the third place photograph also involved Kerry mountains as Noel O'Neill captured the "10th Cross on Mount Brandon" on a snowy New Year's Day 2010.
The Met Society would like to thank all participants and many of the photographs will appear in the Autumn/Winter newsletter.
